Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in hillside vineyards in Piedmont, within the Langhe and Oltrepò Pavese subregions, at 250–300 m above sea level. The vines face mainly east, southeast and west and are planted on clay and limestone soils at an average density of 4,300 vines per hectare.
Vinification
Harvest generally runs from late August to early September. The ripe bunches are crushed and macerated in stainless-steel tanks at 10 °C, followed by fermentation at 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine first rests in stainless-steel tanks and then spends three months in autoclaves.
Tasting profile
The aroma is richly fruity and floral. The palate is lively and slightly spicy, with a rich structure and a refreshing character. Residual sugar is 9.3 g/L.
