Vineyard and terroir
Pinot Nero is grown at elevations ranging from 350 to 900 metres on highly heterogeneous soils. The vineyards are planted at high density and use selected low-yielding clones intended to maintain consistent grape quality.
Grapes
Pinot Nero.
Vinification
The grapes ferment in open vats. Frequent pump-overs and punch-downs keep the fermenting must in contact with the skins, extracting colour and aromatic compounds.
Ageing
The wine matures for one year in barriques, followed by several additional months in bottle.
Technical data
Yield: 35–40 hL/ha. Production is given as 100,000 bottles on the current wine page and 90,000 bottles in the technical sheet. Recommended serving temperature: 16–18 °C.

Colour varies with the vintage from light to deep ruby red. The bouquet combines sour cherry and raspberry with marzipan, plum preserve, clove and cinnamon, followed by woodland-floor nuances. The palate is fresh and lively, with elegant tannins contributing aromatic breadth, roundness and a savoury, inviting character.
