Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Bolgheri, in the Castagneto Carducci area, on clay- and mineral-rich terre brune soils. The clay retains moisture and gives the wine a rounded texture, while the mineral content adds depth. Hot days, cool nights and sea breezes help the grapes ripen evenly and develop a balanced profile.
Grapes
Merlot and Syrah bring juiciness and richness; Sangiovese provides structure and freshness.
Vinification
Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its individual character. Fermentation and maceration are followed by ageing, after which the wines are blended.
Ageing
The separate wines age in oak barrels for around 12 months, softening and gaining depth. After blending, the final wine matures in bottle for several more months, which brings its elements into balance and harmony.
Tasting profile
Refined and expressive, with rich yet balanced fruit rounded out by oak. The palate has a rounded texture, with depth from the mineral soils.
