Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from several sites in the Costeggiola hills, near the village of Costeggiola and a few kilometres from Soave. The vineyards have south-facing slopes, stony soils of volcanic origin and constant airflow. All the fruit comes from the winery’s own organically farmed vineyards.
Vinification
For the 2015 vintage, the grapes were harvested at full ripeness, with only the best fruit selected. The bunches were destemmed and pressed, then fermented in cement tanks for 10 days at a controlled temperature of 15–16 °C. Malolactic fermentation was prevented.
Ageing
The wine rested on its lees in cement and stainless-steel tanks.
Label / history
The winery’s Soave estate, including vineyards and a cellar in Costeggiola in the heart of the Classico area, was acquired in 1970. Costeggiola is produced in limited quantities, with every bottle individually numbered. Production of the 2015 vintage was 20,000 bottles.
