Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in marl and shale soils at 160 metres above sea level. Planting density is 5,000 vines per hectare, and the vines are 50 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from the last week of September into early October. Each variety is fermented separately with native yeasts in Slavonian oak barrels, with two weeks of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months in wooden barrels, then a further 12 months in bottle in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
An elegant red.
Label / history
The label shows the mark left by a wine glass together with a drop of red wine. The idea arose almost by chance, when wine spilled from a glass onto a tablecloth and left the round outline of the glass base and a splashed drop. Annual production is 8,000 bottles.
