Bionasega is an expression of Rudy Cosimi’s creative approach to wine names and labels. Its name uses characteristically Tuscan irony to poke fun at the fashion surrounding organic wines. Cosimi does not reject organic products, but questions their use as a marketing device in some cases.
The wine is made at Il Poggiolo, the family estate established after Roberto Cosimi purchased the property in 1971. The 65-hectare holding lies in an elevated area about 1 km southwest of Montalcino. Rudy Cosimi follows a traditional cellar style and describes the work as handmade.
