Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Località Il Poggiolo in Montalcino, at an elevation of 450 metres above sea level. The soil has a sandy-loam texture, with clay and an abundant stony component of galestro.

Sangiovese Grosso, locally identified with Brunello.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and lasts approximately 21–25 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in large French oak casks, followed by eight months of bottle ageing.
Technical data
Alcohol: 13–14%.
Tasting profile
The colour is a deep, bright ruby red, developing garnet nuances with age. The bouquet is broad and highly persistent, with aromas recalling liquorice and woodland berries. The palate is full and persistent, with soft, elegant tannins.
