Vineyard and terroir

Produced from hillside vineyards in Greve in Chianti at 300 metres above sea level. The vines have a south-eastern exposure and grow on clay-schist soil.

Grapes

Predominantly Sangiovese.

Vinification

Selected grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September and dried naturally. Traditional vinification takes place in small oak caratelli.

Ageing

Matured in small oak caratelli for at least four years.

Technical data

Alcohol: approximately 16%.

Tasting profile

Intense golden yellow with copper highlights. The bouquet is highly complex, intense, spicy and fruity, with dried and candied fruit, apricot, orange peel, citrus and walnut-husk notes alongside persistent fresh and sweet spices. The palate is complex, sweet, soft and opulent, finishing with a long, persistent aftertaste of dried fruit, candied fruit and spices.

Serving and pairing

Suitable for desserts. The technical sheet recommends 16–18 °C, while the product page gives 18–19 °C.
