Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown south of Lake Garda in the Lugana wine region, where limestone and clay soils of glacial origin are rich in mineral deposits.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed with the stems intact. After clarification, the must ferments at 15–16 °C. The wine is cold-bottled.
Ageing
The wine rests in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and is intended to be enjoyed young.
Tasting profile
Aromatic and fruit-forward, with a soft structure and a full, fresh palate.
Serving and pairing
Pair with light appetisers, fish or seafood.
Label / history
Lugana’s name is believed to derive from the Latin phrase “Lacus Lucanus”, meaning “lake in the woods”, recalling the dense forests that reached the lakeshore until the 12th century. Monks later established vines on the hills beside the lake. The wine is produced in limited quantities.
