Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie on the volcanic and gravelly soils of the Breganze hills.
Grapes
Vespaiola is a local variety. Its name comes from the wasps (vespe) attracted by the sweet scent of its flowers and berries.
Vinification
After harvest the bunches are twisted onto a cord, spaced apart so that sun and wind reach every berry. The grapes dry for 3–4 months. Fermentation then takes 2–3 months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages for one year in French oak barriques.
Tasting profile
An elegant dessert wine with an intense aroma and a rich, structured palate. Natural acidity, alcohol and sugar are balanced so that the wine tastes sweet for the first 10 seconds. The sweetness then fades and leaves a fruity note.
Label / history
The name comes from an Italian word meaning "twisting", which refers to the twisting of the bunches onto the cord during production.
