Label / history
The cuvée is named in honour of Count Federico (Conte Federico) Bossi Fedrigotti, a successful entrepreneur from one of the family's generations of winemakers. It arose from many years of collaboration between the Bossi Fedrigotti family and Masi.
The Bossi Fedrigotti winery was founded in 1697, after the family acquired land in Fojaneghe. Its holdings later expanded to 250 hectares, and a large estate with unusual two-level cellars was built in Rovereto. The family's property was greatly reduced during the Napoleonic era at the end of the 18th century, threatening the survival of its winemaking legacy. Federico Bossi Fedrigotti, father of the winery's current owners, subsequently revived the family business through a series of major changes. Bossi Fedrigotti now works closely with Masi under a partnership agreement.
