Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Nero di Troia grows in a sun-drenched vineyard with limestone-clay and sandy soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. They are macerated at a controlled 4–5 °C for at least 18 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled 24–26 °C. The must is then gently pressed off the skins, and the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for 4 months in French oak barrels, followed by several more months in bottle in the winery's cellars.
Label / history
Sellata means "saddled". The labels show a strong yet graceful horse prancing. The Sellata range was created by Benedetto Lorusso. The wine has won gold medals at the Berliner Wine Trophy and at Mundus Vini.
