Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo is grown in Piedmont, at the foot of the Alps. The region’s vines occupy steep, sun-warmed slopes at 200–400 m above sea level, on soils of clay, limestone and marl.
Ageing
Barolo is required to spend 36 months in wooden barrels followed by 18 months in bottle. This maturation develops flavour and structure while softening the tannins.
Tasting profile
The nose is rich, harmonious and full, with white truffle, forest floor and flowers unfolding over fresh fruit and exotic spices. The palate is balanced and delicate, with a noble, aristocratic character.
Label / history
Barolo received DOCG status in 1980. Michele Reverdito began transforming the family business in 1991 with the support of his father, Silvano, developing its vineyards and winemaking from the family’s old holdings in Rivalta di La Morra. He subsequently acquired plots in La Morra, Serralunga d’Alba and Verduno, expanding the estate to 20 ha. Nebbiolo occupies two-thirds of its vineyards. Michele oversees the winemaking with his sister Sabina, while Silvano and Maria Reverdito tend the vineyards.
