Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards across the Barbaresco area, with varied exposures and calcareous marl soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first half of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats at a controlled 30–31 °C for 8–10 days, with regular pumping over and punch-downs. The wine remains on the skins for several additional days after fermentation to optimize polyphenol extraction. Malolactic fermentation is completed before ageing.
Ageing
The wine spends at least one year in large Slavonian and French oak casks, followed by at least 12 months in the winery’s cellars after bottling.
Tasting profile
Graceful, feminine and elegant, with a rich bouquet of flowers and spices and smooth, delicate tannins.
Label / history
The Santa Vittoria estate stands on a steep hill overlooking the Langhe and the valley below, in the village of Santa Vittoria d’Alba. Its tower was built in 1386. The local landscapes were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 as a living record of the area’s historic vine-growing tradition and the social and economic structures shaped by wine culture.
