Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows in the heart of Monferrato, near the Ligurian border. Sea breezes help preserve freshness. The vineyards face southeast and southwest, on sandy soils with a high proportion of sandy marl.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-September and gently pressed. The juice is separated immediately from the skins and pulp, then fermented at approximately 18 °C: 85% in stainless-steel tanks and 15% in barriques. The wine is subsequently cooled and allowed to settle.
Ageing
The wine rests in steel tanks for 2–3 months. In spring, it undergoes cold stabilization before bottling.
Tasting profile
Consistently fresh, with pleasant mineral notes that are almost salty.
Serving and pairing
Suitable as an aperitif or with fish.
Label / history
The estate takes its name from the village of Santa Vittoria d'Alba. It stands on a steep hill overlooking the Langhe and the valley below and includes a tower built in 1386. The local landscapes were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 in recognition of their historic vine-growing tradition and the social and economic structures shaped by wine culture.
