Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The estate follows organic practices.
Grapes
The blend comprises 95% Nebbiolo, using the Picotendro and Pugnet biotypes, and 5% Ner d’Ala, which contributes depth and character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, with each bunch checked carefully. Around 70% of the berries are destemmed, retaining natural structure and tannins. Maceration lasts approximately 40 days in stainless-steel tanks to extract aroma and colour.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in old barriques, developing harmony, roundness and subtle complexity. It is then bottled for further integration.
Tasting profile
Elegant, delicate and mineral, with greater resemblance to Pinot Noir than to classic Barolo.
Label / history
The name “Sole e Roccia” was inspired by Mario Soldati’s description of Carema wine, in which he perceived the taste of the sun and the rock themselves.
