Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard is part of the Villa di Bagnolo estate, at the foot of the extinct Monte Ferrato volcano, around 150 metres above sea level. Its clay and slate soils are rich in iron and other minerals. Ample moisture and pronounced differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures help the grapes develop aromatic, distinctive flavours.
Grapes
Several Pinot Nero clones of Burgundian origin are used.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand during the first half of September, then destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks and small oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine matures for one year in French oak barrels, one-third of which are replaced each year. It then rests in bottle for at least another 12 months in the estate’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Balanced, supple and juicy, with a deep character.
Label / history
Production is limited.
