Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are selected from the Bottinello vineyard at Tenuta Rompicollo in Pitigliano and from Tenuta Albore in Scansano, within Maremma Toscana.

100% Alicante.
Vinification
Traditional red vinification employs spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless-steel vats, followed by 12 days of skin maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures for 15 months in large Slavonian oak casks.

Alcohol: 13% vol. Bottle size: 750 ml.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red. The complex, fragrant bouquet offers ripe and preserved wild berries, leather and balsamic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. The palate is warm, structured, harmonious and mouth-filling, leading to an intense, persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Suitable partners include meat-based pasta and rice dishes, roasts, stuffed vegetables, mature cheeses, and spicy meat dishes from Asian cuisines.
Label / history
Alicante is an old grape associated with Spain and France. Research connects its arrival in Maremma, particularly Scansano, with the period of Spanish rule. Alicante Bouschet has been planted at Poggio al Tufo since the estate was acquired in 1997.
