Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 2 ha of east-facing vineyards at 350 m above sea level. The soils are clay and sand, with a planting density of 4,500 vines per hectare. Grapes are harvested by hand into crates.
Grapes
90% Chardonnay and 10% Roussanne.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 20°C, with selected yeasts.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in stainless steel and a further three months in bottle. It does not undergo wood ageing.
Technical data
IGT Toscana Bianco. Average production exceeds 7,000 bottles, while the wine page rounds production to 7,000 bottles. Ageing potential is three years.
Tasting profile
Conceived as a youthful, fresh white, Ambrae combines this immediacy with the depth associated with the Poliziano territory.
Label / history
The first vintage is identified as 1993. Poliziano discontinued the planting of white varieties in 1990 and later resumed work with Chardonnay and Roussanne clones, leading to the new Ambrae label.
