Grapes

Aglianico del Vulture.

Ageing

Matured for 15 months in barriques and rested for another 4 months in bottle.

Technical data

Aglianico del Vulture DOC. Alcohol: 14.5% vol. Bottle format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Bright, deeply coloured garnet red with violet reflections. The nose opens with dark fruit macerated in spirit, delicate spices and balsamic tones over subtle chocolate. Broad and generous on the palate, with an enveloping structure and firm but polished tannins. The long aromatic finish recalls rhubarb preserve and delicate bitter roots.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18 °C. Pair with red meats, roast beef, braised meats, game and spiced food. It also suits pasta and Asian dishes such as sweet-and-sour pork or Peking duck.

Label / history

Donpà is presented as an expression of Basilicata’s volcanic energy and regional identity, combining a forceful character with refinement.
