Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a small vineyard in Sarezzano, near the town of Tortona. The wine is marked by minerality and is capable of evolving with age toward increasingly intense savory nuances.
Grapes
100% Timorasso.
Vinification
The grapes undergo very gentle pressing, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine remains on the lees in stainless-steel tanks for more than one year, with bâtonnage, and receives additional ageing in bottle.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow in colour. The delicate aroma evokes citrus fruit and lemon peel. The palate is full and savory, with pronounced minerality and the capacity to develop further savory complexity over time.
Serving and pairing
Pair with starters, first courses, fish and white meat.
Label / history
The first vintage was 2021. Renato Ratti created the historic “soldier” label to commemorate the Piedmontese regiments that defended their region during the Napoleonic period around 1800. The illustration depicts the “Infantry of Tortona” from 1750, connecting the label with Derthona’s place of origin.
The wine is presented in the Albeisa bottle, named for Alba. Renato Ratti created this distinctive bottle in 1973 as an emblem of the identity of the territory and its wines.
