Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the Fattoria di Basciano estate vineyards in the Chianti region and are harvested at optimal ripeness.
Grapes
Sangiovese is blended with a small amount of Colorino.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 25–28 °C, with 20 days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation begins immediately after alcoholic fermentation and occurs in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in second- and third-use French oak barriques.
