Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown at the La Solatia estate in the hills of the Siena area, near the medieval village of Monteriggioni. The vineyards lie at 190–250 m above sea level. The estate’s land and microclimate are particularly suited to white-wine production.
Vinification
The grapes usually reach ideal ripeness by the end of August. They are harvested by hand, carefully selected, chilled and gently pressed. After cold filtration, alcoholic fermentation proceeds without skin contact for 10–15 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
Before bottling, the wine rests for an unspecified period on its lees in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Soft, aromatic and fruit-forward, combining the character of the Siena terroir with the qualities of a grape traditionally grown in other parts of Italy.
Label / history
The name comes from solatia, a Tuscan dialect word meaning “bathed in sunshine” or “on the sunny side.”
