Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a little-known strip of land near Murlo, between Montalcino and Grosseto in the heart of Tuscany.
Grapes
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Alicante and Petit Verdot are blended in equal proportions.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested with careful selection, then sorted again on tables at the winery. Vinification lasts 14–16 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The temperature is kept relatively low during the first few days, then gradually raised.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least 12 months in French oak barriques, of which 60% are new and 40% are in their second year of use.
Label / history
Urlo means “Scream.” Conceived as an unconventional departure from Tuscan winemaking tradition, it is produced only in outstanding years, with production limited to 5,000 bottles. The scream became the central motif of the label, designed by Simonetta Doni di Firenze.
