Vineyard and terroir

The Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Cembra Valley and the hills of Pressano, Sorni and Trento, at elevations ranging from 200 to 650 metres. Vineyards in Pressano and Cembra face south-west, while those in the Trento–Meano area face north-west. The varied soils include porphyritic-volcanic material, red marl around Pressano, sandy loam in the Cembra Valley and medium-loam soils in the other areas, all originating from morainic sediments. The vines are 5–25 years old and trained to the simple Trentino pergola at 4,000 vines per hectare, with yields of 90–100 quintals per hectare.

Grapes

100% Sauvignon Blanc.

Vinification

A brief cold maceration precedes vinification in stainless steel. Fermentation lasts approximately 20 days at low temperature.

Ageing

The wine remains on its lees in stainless steel for five months, with regular bâtonnage.

Tasting profile

Light greenish yellow. Fragrant white-peach aromas are joined by tropical fruit, wildflowers and hay. The palate is saline, fresh and agile, with an easy-drinking character and a subtle but persistent finish. Freshness and minerality define the style.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10 °C. Available in 0.75-litre bottles and 1.5-litre Magnums.

Label / history

First produced from the 2011 vintage, Vette was conceived as a fresh, harmonious Sauvignon Blanc with pronounced minerality and floral character. Its name pays tribute to the imposing Trentino peaks visible from the vineyards.
