Vineyard and terroir
The Moscato is grown around San Marzano in Salento, Puglia, at approximately 130 m above sea level. The area is warm and receives medium-low rainfall. The vines are espalier-trained.
Grapes
100% Moscato.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into crates during the early morning in the final ten days of August.
Ageing
Eighty percent of the wine matures in stainless-steel tanks. The remaining 20% spends four months in a 600 L French-oak barrel.
Technical data
The 2024 vintage has 12% alcohol by volume and is bottled in a 500 ml format.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. Delicate white-flower freshness is joined by ripe peach and apricot wrapped in vanilla. The palate is sweet and fragrant, retaining its fruit character, while soft honeyed notes are balanced by good freshness.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–10°C. Traditional partners include dry pastries and baked desserts; it can also be poured as an aperitif or incorporated into mixed drinks. Recommended drinking window: within three years of the harvest.
Label / history
Polline was introduced alongside a biodiversity project devoted to protecting bees. Its name means “pollen,” the food of these essential pollinating insects.
