Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard has a southern exposure. Its soils contain a high proportion of silt and porphyry, which contributes softness, fullness, depth and structure.
Vinification
Fermentation lasts 12 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 14 months, with two-thirds aged in large oak casks and the remainder in barriques. It then rests in bottle for at least one year.
Tasting profile
Characteristic wild-berry flavours accompany a soft, full profile with depth and structure.
Label / history
The label features the outline of a 15th-century castle built by Archduke Sigismund, a wine enthusiast who supported the development of the area’s vineyards. The castle is now almost entirely in ruins.
