Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Settesoli’s vineyards in the municipality of Menfi in southwestern Sicily. The vineyards are surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and experience Sicilian sunshine and fresh sea breezes. The vines grow in medium-textured, limestone soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the first week of September. A slow, temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine is aged and stabilized in stainless-steel tanks.
Vintage notes
The 2020 growing season was warm and dry, with mild drought but no extreme heat. Light winds helped maintain healthy conditions for the grapes and harvest workers. Temperatures declined in late July, while plentiful rainfall replenished groundwater reserves and slowed ripening. The pronounced difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures resulted in excellent acidity balanced by phenolic ripeness.
Label / history
The name Inycon derives from the ancient Greek name for Menfi.
