Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from 4 ha of vineyards in the Larciano area, north of Florence. Older vines are trained to spur-pruned cordon, while the newer parcels use Guyot. The vineyards are cultivated according to organic-farming principles. Practices include mating-disruption traps against grapevine moth, organic humus, sowing and green manure to improve soil quality.

Grapes

Blend composition varies by vintage. The latest published vintage, 2022, comprises 75% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 10% Canaiolo.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand in late September. Fermentation and skin maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows the alcoholic fermentation in October.

Ageing

The 2022 vintage receives at least four months of bottle ageing.

Technical data

Chianti DOCG. The 2022 vintage has 13% alcohol.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby red with purple reflections. The aroma is intense and fruit-driven, with blueberry, blackberry and dark-cherry notes. The palate is elegant, soft and balanced, combining velvety tannins with a fresh accent.

Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with beef, cold cuts, medium-aged cheeses or pasta dressed with meat-based sauces.
