Vineyard and terroir
Fosnuri is a pure Syrah cru grown on the white calcareous soils of Butera. The vineyard faces south and is described at 450 m above sea level. Intense Sicilian sunlight is reflected by the pale ground, while the day-to-night temperature range supports even, juicy ripening. Grapes are picked by hand into crates to preserve their condition.

Vinification
The grapes undergo gentle vibration destemming. Maceration lasts at least 25 days and is managed as an infusion rather than an intensive extraction; the pomace is transferred manually.
Ageing
Malolactic fermentation and maturation take place in 5 hl casks, with ageing lasting 18 months.
Label / history
The name combines fos, Greek for light, and nuur, its Arabic counterpart. The pairing of the two words evokes “light squared” and the defining brightness of the site.
