Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from two vineyards. One is on southeast-facing slopes near Kurtatsch at 400–700 metres above sea level; the other is on the southwest-facing hills of Welsch-Unterrain at 600–700 metres. The vines grow in chalky, sandy soils with gravel, at a density of 7,500 plants per hectare, and average 25 years of age.
Vinification
After careful selection, the grapes undergo six to eight hours of maceration, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 20 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for six months, with 30% aged in large oak barrels.
