Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from southern and southeastern sites around Kurtatsch (Cortaccia) and Entiklar, at 260–470 m above sea level. The vines are almost 40 years old. Each area has its own combination of soil and climate, which brings out different sides of Gewurztraminer.
Vinification
Fermentation lasts 10 days in a concrete tank at a controlled 18 °C. Concrete is used to preserve the original character of the grape variety and vineyards. Its porosity allows a minimal but steady flow of oxygen, which gives an open, fresh, approachable wine with a rich aroma.
Ageing
After fermentation the wine rests on fine lees for 4 months before bottling. It can be drunk young or cellared for 3 years.
Tasting profile
Well-balanced, complex and layered. Refined fruit notes mingle with distinctive mineral touches on the palate. The aroma is rich, and the wine is open, fresh and approachable.
Serving and pairing
Suited to an aperitif or to shellfish.
Label / history
