Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, where Glera is traditionally grown.
Grapes
Small amounts of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Verdiso, Perera and Bianchetta supplement the Glera in the blend.
Vinification
Secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat method. Harvest in 2020 began in the first days of September.
Tasting profile
Delicate, with gentler bubbles than a classic spumante. Bottle pressure is 1.5–2.5 atm, compared with 3.5 atm for spumante.
Serving and pairing
Suitable as an aperitif and with light appetisers, fish or vegetables.
Vintage notes
Spring and summer 2020 brought favourable conditions. Several hot spells in August did not compromise the good yields. The vintage’s white wines showed complex varietal character and the distinctive personality associated with a warm year.
