Grapes
The blend comprises 40% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Canaiolo Nero.
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the commune of Montepulciano. The vineyards yield 6 tonnes/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested both by hand and by machine. A short pre-fermentation maceration is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation using selected yeast cultures. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation takes place in French Allier oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine spends 12 months in 228-litre French Allier oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle.

Annual production is 6,000 bottles.
