Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Cabernet Franc comes from the estate's "Mordese" vineyard, at 350–390 m above sea level on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the final third of September. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for 20–25 days at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barriques, 50% of them new.
Ageing
The wine ages in oak barriques for 12 months before bottling, then rests a further 8–10 months in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
Elegant.
Vintage notes
Most experts considered 2018 an exceptionally good year for Tuscany. Heavy rain and hail damaged certain areas, but favourable summer weather, with hot days and cooler nights, produced a strong, healthy crop. The season's red wines showed juicy fruit, good acidity and structure.
