Storia
The story of Vallepicciola began in 1999, when businessman Bruno Bolfo and his sister Giuseppina decided to restore an old convent. The convent is now a 5-star hotel that receives visitors from around the world.
Castelnuovo Berardenga, where the estate lies, is said to take its name from King Berardo, a noble warrior of Franco-German origin who lived in the 9th century. He is said to have been interested in the wines of the area as well as the lands of Tuscany, which inspired the label design.
Terroir
Vallepicciola lies among the hills of Chianti Classico, in a small village a few kilometers from Siena, in Castelnuovo Berardenga. The vineyards, near the convent, have a microclimate described as ideal for winemaking. The property also includes a small lake, woodlands and fields.
