Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the Val di Picciola, Casuccio and Mordese vineyards, at 380–400 metres above sea level. The vines are 10 years old and are planted in limestone and clay soils containing marl and limestone. Yields are around 60 quintals per hectare.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the last ten days of September. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and last around 10–15 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barriques.
Ageing
The wine ages for 8–10 months in second-fill barriques, then rests a further 4–6 months in bottle in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
A harmonious blend that is rich yet approachable.
