Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in the Venegazzu vineyards on the Montello hills near Treviso. The soils are clay and limestone, with the clay described as rich in iron and minerals. They contribute firm structure and depth of flavour.
Vinification
The wine undergoes fermentation and maceration.
Ageing
It matures for 18 months in large neutral oak casks. This softens the tannins and contributes spicy and woody nuances, producing a more harmonious, rounded character.
Tasting profile
The nose combines ripe cherry, blackcurrant and dark berries with spice, tobacco and a light woody note. The palate is rich, structured, harmonious and rounded, with firm but softened tannins and depth of flavour.
Serving and pairing
Pair with meat dishes.
Label / history
The Venegazzu estate was founded in the 1950s by Count Piero Loredan, a direct descendant of Leonardo Loredan, Doge of Venice. Wines from the area were mentioned by the chronicler Boniface in Historia Trevigiana.
