Vineyard and terroir
The Pecorino d’Abruzzo is grown on medium-textured clay soils in the provinces of Pescara and Chieti. Pergola and espalier training systems are used. Harvest takes place at the end of August.
Grapes
Pecorino d’Abruzzo.
Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed and undergo cryo-maceration, followed by vacuum pressing to obtain only the free-run must. After cold clarification, the clear fraction ferments at low temperature in stainless-steel tanks.
Technical data
Abruzzo DOC Pecorino. Alcohol: 13% vol., with possible variation between vintages. Available formats: 0.375 L and 0.75 L. Recommended glass: tulip. Its acidity and structure support good longevity in bottle.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow with greenish and subtle golden reflections. The powerful, fragrant nose combines yellow flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit with aromatic herbs, particularly thyme and mint. The palate maintains a dynamic balance between depth, freshness and salinity.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 8–10°C. Suitable as an aperitif and with light starters, raw or cooked fish dishes and seafood-topped pizza.
Label / history
The Tralcetto line is identified by the characteristic vine sprig around the bottle neck, symbolising the deep roots of the relationship between wine and territory. The sprigs are collected after the annual pruning of Abruzzo vineyards and attached to each bottle by hand.
