Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Abruzzo Region, from medium-textured clay soils. Vines are trained using the traditional marquee system and espalier. Harvest takes place at the beginning of October.
Grapes
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
Vinification
Freshly harvested grapes are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation and maceration last 15–20 days in 50 hl oak vats at 28–30°C. The wine is then racked, and the liquid fraction settles for 48 hours.
Ageing
At least nine months in oak vats.
Technical data
Alcohol: 14% vol, subject to variation between vintages. Available format: 0.75 L.
Tasting profile
Intense purple-red with vivid violet reflections. Aromas of red berries and ripe cherries in spirit lead to a round, complex palate whose fruit character echoes the nose.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 14–16°C. Pair with cold cuts, cured meats, pasta dressed with meat sauces, vegetables or mushrooms. A balloon glass is suggested.
Label / history
The Tralcetto line is identified by the vine sprig tied by hand around each bottle’s neck. The sprigs are collected after the annual pruning of vineyards in Abruzzo and represent the connection between wine and its territory.
