Entries open for the 2027 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition
California wineries can enter the 51st OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition free of charge; wine deliveries are due by 14 May 2027, ahead of judging on 5–6 June.
The Orange County Wine Society, in partnership with OC Fair, has invited California wineries of all sizes to enter the 51st OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition. Entry is free, and submitted wines must arrive by 14 May 2027.1
Each entry requires six 750 mL bottles or an equivalent volume. Wineries producing fewer than 1,000 cases in total per year qualify as Limited Production wineries and may submit three bottles per entry.1
Judging and awards
Professional winemakers and winery principals will conduct double-blind peer judging on 5–6 June 2027. Wines will be evaluated by variety, price point and sugar level. Awards include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Double Gold and Best of Class, and entries are also eligible for the free Label and Bottle Design Competition.1
OC Fair and scholarships
Competition wines will be poured at the OC Fair Wine Courtyard during the fair, which runs from 16 July to 15 August 2027. The Orange County Wine Society says it has donated more than $1 million since 1981 to eight California colleges and universities with enology and viticulture programmes.1
