About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Nero is grown at 350 m above sea level on gravelly soils in Alto Adige. The abbey sources its red grapes from warmer vineyards around Bolzano.
Vinification
Harvest began in mid-September. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks over 20 days, with regular stirring.
Ageing
The wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels at 28 °C, followed by nine months in bottle.
