About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Aia Vecchia lies in the heart of Tuscany, between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. The estate has 48 ha of vineyards, 30 ha of them within Bolgheri DOC. The vineyards occupy sunny sites with a favourable microclimate.

Grapes

Petit Verdot makes up a small proportion of the blend.

Ageing

The wine matures in French Allier oak barrels, followed by one year in bottle.

Tasting profile

The nose is rich in fruit and spice. The palate is powerful, warm and concentrated, with a supple structure.

Serving and pairing

Pairs with red or white meat, game and cheese.

Label / history

The estate takes its name from an old 16th-century castle on the property. Aia Vecchia produces 220,000 bottles of wine annually.
