About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from vineyards at Tenuta di Nozzole, 30 km south of Florence in the Chianti Classico area, at an altitude of 350 m.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in the second half of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 °C, with 20 days of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation is completed in the same tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures for 13 months in French oak barrels, followed by at least six months in bottle in the estate’s cellars.

Label / history

The Folonari family acquired Tenuta di Nozzole in 1971. The estate covers 385 ha, including more than 90 ha of vineyards and approximately 15 ha of olive groves.
