About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Syrah comes mainly from the west-facing I Pianali plateau beside the Argentiera parcels, sharing some of their soil characteristics. The vines stand at 80–100 m elevation in marl and shale interspersed with sandstone and siliceous rock. Planting density is 6,500 vines per hectare and the yield is 90 quintals of grapes per hectare.
Grapes
100% Syrah.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation lasts 15 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by two months of contact with the fine lees in stainless steel.
Ageing
The wine matures for three months in stainless-steel tanks and then ages for three months in bottle.
Tasting profile
A delicate, crystalline rosé with aromatic richness and vibrant freshness. Its profile recalls clean air, a cool sea breeze and Mediterranean herbs, with fruit and saline notes shaping the palate.
Vintage notes
The 2024 season combined a mild, rainy winter, with 550 mm of precipitation through April, and a rainy spring that slowed the vegetative cycle after early budbreak. May flowering produced well-aerated clusters and even ripening. A dry period from 13 June to 8 September caused moderate water stress, most evident in mid-August. Rainfall of 80 mm in early September rehydrated the vines without impairing their health, while fair weather from 10 to 22 September supported optimal ripeness.
Syrah was harvested in the first week of September with a balance of maturity and freshness. The berries from I Pianali were healthy and concentrated, producing a rosé that combines aromatic breadth, freshness and elegance.
Label / history
The wine is named for I Pianali, the plateau where Argentiera is situated. Its diverse vegetation helps shape the rhythm and natural balance of the seasons. Oleander, widespread along the Mediterranean coast, is central to the wine’s imagery: historically associated with universal harmony, its flowering marks spring and a renewed beginning at Argentiera.
