About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit is grown in Cerasuolo di Vittoria in Sicily. Avide owns 70 ha of vineyards in the region.

Vinification

After harvest, the grapes are carefully sorted and fermented at a controlled temperature.

Ageing

The wine matures in oak barrels for 24–36 months, followed by 8–12 months in bottle. During bottle ageing, the bottles are stored horizontally at a constant 15–16 °C.

Tasting profile

Warm and elegant, with fruity and berry notes on both the nose and palate.

Label / history

Barocco won a bronze medal at the 2nd International Wine Competition, held in Verona as part of “Vinality, 1994”. Avide has belonged to the Demostene family since 1882. Giovanni Demostene, his sister Maria-Stella Demostene and her husband Giuseppe Calcaterra co-founded the family winery. Their children Giovanni, Lidia and Marco continue the family business, combining established traditions with modern technology.
