About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Dorilli estate in the heart of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria area, on the banks of the Dirillo River, a few kilometres from Donnafugata Castle and near the coastal archaeological excavations. The estate has 34 ha of vineyards surrounding its historic building and cellar.
Vinification
Harvest begins on 20 September. The grapes are destemmed and pressed, then macerated on their skins for 12 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 25 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 10 months in previously used 500-litre barrels.
Tasting profile
Ripe berry notes and a bright, fresh aroma accompany richness and intensity, with supple tannins.
