About this wine
Profile
A thick floor of clay topped by a thin calcareous layer characterises the Nobile’s underworld. The clay acts as a water reserve releasing just the right amount to the vineyards. This magical environment is where the tasting palette of Sangiovese comes to life. Based on the plots’ geolocation the grapes take on a nuance of their own. Our single vineyards represent the Sangiovese tasting palette with which our Nobile is made. All vinified in the same manner, they are truly different yet can come together harmonically.

The sediments you might find in this wine show that it is made of pure Sangiovese with minimal
intervention. The deposit is due to its high content of a natural antioxidant called quercetin,
which is perfectly safe. This is not a flaw, it is a characteristic of the pure Sangiovese.

201 8 VINTAGE
This great vintage is reflected in abundant and healthy bunches that have filled our organic vineyards. A warm spring kicked off
what turned out to be an exciting year. The grapes benefited from a mild summer with occasional showers, allowing them to reach
perfect ripeness.
TASTING NOTES
Opulent and voluptuous, Oceano impresses for its power and charisma and enchants for its great intensity. The nose stands out
for its rich and complex bouquet: floral notes of violet and rose intertwine with hints of black cherry and sweet spices. On the
palate Ocean overwhelms you with a wave of sweetness, where the aromas of ripe fruit integrate with the notes of undergrowth
and culminate in a long and persistent finish.

The plants underwent vegetative blocks that made it difficult for the pulp, skins and pips to develop, which were more concentrated. Through short and delicate extractions we were able to privilege the elegance and drinkability that distinguish our wines. TASTING NOTES Oceano gives voice to one of the most peculiar expressions of Avignonesi’s soils: the mattaione clay, able to craft a fruity and well-structured Sangiovese. Opulent and voluptuous, Oceano impresses for its power and charisma and enchants for its great intensity. The nose stands out for its rich and complex bouquet: floral notes of violet and rose intertwine with hints of black cherry and sweet spices. On the palate Ocean overwhelms you with a wave of sweetness, where the aromas of ripe fruit integrate with the notes of undergrowth and culminate in a long and persistent finish. In such a particular year, it stands out for its docile and linear profile compared to what we are used to receiving from this vineyard. ..............................................................................................................................................
