About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a single vineyard near Vincigliata in Fiesole, close to Florence. The site overlooks Florence and has clay and marl soils.
Vinification
The must is vinified in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barriques for 15 months.
Label / history
The label was created by Bibi Graetz, an artist and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts. Its original design was revised after the United States prohibited the wine’s import unless the artwork was changed. Soffocone is both the vineyard’s name and an Italian term meaning “fellatio.”
