About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay comes from 5 hectares of estate vineyards in the Civitanova Marche area. The sites have varying exposures and lie at 180 m above sea level on sandy and clay soils. Cover crops between the rows are ploughed into the soil every three to four years as a natural fertiliser. Green harvesting is practised.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, then crushed and gently pressed. The must ferments in stainless-steel tanks with frequent pumping over.
Ageing
The wine matures for five months in French Allier oak barrels, followed by six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with white meat, fish carpaccio, shellfish and goat cheese.
Label / history
The name derives from the ancient castle of Mons Alpertis, which once stood in the district where the estate's vineyards are located.
